Nicaragua Raids Costa Rica, blames Google Maps

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.  These words hold true beyond those of the innocent advice your mother or father probably gave you back in high school.

Matt McGee of Search Engine Land posted a story about a Nicaraguan General unintentionally invading Costa Rica, citing an error in Google Maps that lead his forces to set up a camp on the wrong side of a river, thereby starting an international incident.

Bing, however, displays the river correctly.
